welcome to youth (12-18s)
Over the the last 35 years, our church has seen hundreds of youth come to Christ, many of whom currently still attend. Investing in the future is a core value of our congregation, which is why we have a Youth group for those aged 12-18 years.
This group is lead by Funsho & Joanna Lampejo who have vast experience serving in different capacities, during their 17 years of attending our church. They didn’t know each other when they first attended as teenagers. But they both describe that time in their life as “headed in the wrong direction, being unhappy and without any purpose or meaning.”
“Dont let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”
Timothy 4:12
It was in this despair and desperation, that they turned to Jesus and were captured by His presence. In church, they found so many other young people who were in love with Jesus that it encouraged them to stay. They have since been married for 14 years! They have three beautiful children and are really excited to be able to have impact on the lives of young people today.
“It’s a great privilege to be serving as youth leaders. Having been a part of the youth group as teenagers ourselves, we know what it’s like to be young and searching for direction and hope. We believe this is the best place to come and find your place. You can make an impact, even in your youth!”
